I will never understand the metrics of Medium so I do read articles that attempt to uncover its inner workings.

My top earner, about writing, is from 2019, was self-published, curated and earned me right around 80.00, with 1.4 thousand views.

I've had articles that got more views but made far less money.

Notable, to me, is that this top earner is a non-fiction piece and I write fiction (short stories here on Medium) almost exclusively.

I think my fiction is better than this. And it takes far more effort for me to construct a short story for Medium.
