When my daughter was about five weeks old I decided to take her to Target with me. She was ready for a nap so I put her down, took a shower, thinking of how fun it would be to get out of the house, to go to Target. I got out of the shower, got dressed, grabbed my keys and headed out the door.

I got about four blocks from our house before I remembered I’d left her in her crib asleep. She was still sleeping when I got back to the house.

I was always a very careful Mom. I was always a good Mom. If I could forget her, anyone could forget. Thankfully, all this was about for me was turning around and going back home.
