When my daughter was about a month old I decided we would go on our first outing together. We would go to Target and buy a few things I needed. She fell asleep mid-morning and my plan was to leave around 11 am. I had time for a shower. When I got out of the shower I got dressed, grabbed my keys and left in my car. I was about half mile away from my house before I remembered I'd left her at home. I was thinking of how I was going to get her carrier into a shopping cart...that was what triggered me to remember I had forgotten her.

I was so upset with myself and I didn't really understand what had happened. I just felt like a really bad Mom. I wasn't though.

She's 38 now. We had no further incidences.
