When I’ve gotten a comment like that I ask myself what would happen if I believed the critique and how would believing it benefit me. The answer is always that it would not benefit me. And that gives someone I don’t know and don’t care about Waaaayyyyyy too much power in my life. It’s one person. Even if that person is king/queen of some sort of island somewhere it is still not the world entire.

Is that a matter of having a thicker skin? I don’t really want to have thick skin but I do want to have belief in my self. It’s still hard to hear but you can’t let yourself dwell on it.
