Tre,

This story has me in tears. Because today I struggle.

I've been struggling to find my empathy for several online bullies who are tormenting a writer here that I am friends with.

Also for my douche-bag neighbor who has once again called the police because my daughter parked on the street when she came to visit. The police said where she parked was okay. It's the same thing they said when he called them the last time. The police knocked on our door when we were celebrating Christmas early in order to let her feel ok about deciding to stay home with her husband for Christmas. He just started a new job with no days off for six months. We were opening gifts when the cops knocked.

Neighbor has one of those giant trucks with a fancy, expensive horn that plays Dixie. Ugh. He thinks this is cute. It is not cute. We live in a diverse neighborhood. Folks have to hear that messed up business.

I hear him bragging to our neighbors who immigrated to the U.S. from Serbia about how much he spends on his home improvements. They each work two jobs to get a little bit ahead.

He flies a Trump flag on his flag pole.

If/when I think about him I can get carried away by thoughts of what a total jerk he is.

I struggle not to.
