This is indeed such a strange phenomenon. If a friend of mine put their writing out where I could see it I would probably rush to find it.

The only person I know IRL who reads my work consistently is my husband. He is so supportive!

I’ve had the issue of a friend asking me to check out their creative work and finding, to my dismay, that I was going to have to lie to them about my feelings. I really hate that.

“Be honest!” they will insist. No, you can’t be honest. And maybe for some of those I’ve asked to read my work, this is what they are trying to avoid.

So, I sort of keep my writing to myself. I’ve told a few people and it didn’t go as I expected.
