The TV was restricted in my house. Same as you, we had to ask permission. Mostly we were told to go outside and play or to read a book.

Like a few others my mother distained the Three Stooges because it was idiotic. No Lassie because I got too emotional when Lassie was in danger. ( I didn't give a shit about Timmy. )

Tarzan was at the top of the list of no-no's because one of my brother's had a nightmare after watching it and he interrupted my parent's sleep.
