Thanks for this great piece of your history. Sometimes white people who grew up without much will argue about our white privilege.
This story speaks volumes in a way that would be hard to argue with.
You don't mention Frank and Inell's race but as a southerner I'm guessing they were black because as a child you were instructed to call them by their first names. If they had been white, they would have been Mr. Frank and Miss Inell.
A credit to my parents, who always tried to overcome their upbringings, we were instructed to add Ma'am and Sir when speaking to anyone older or being of service.
