Thank you for this, Michelle. I also haven't paid much mind to this AI business. I too have run across articles that seemed off but I didn't put two and two together. Instead I just thought the writer was a bore.

In reading your article I thought of elephants with paint brushes. I think I'd rather see a piece of art painted by an elephant that by an artificial intelligence. Does the elephant know what she is doing? Even if all that is happening is that she is having fun dipping the brush into paint and flinging it onto a canvas it still seems that makes a better painting with more emotion than a robot can manage.
