Sometimes I think my American names for things are brutish compared to their British counterparts.

Right now, I'm on vacation but I'd prefer to be on holiday. Holiday seems jolly but vacation puts me at a loss, separated from my usual life. Something is missing...I'm a homebody. Have I vacated my senses?

I can't be too hard on umbrella, though. I need the uncertain hesitation (um...) while I decide when to unfurl the brella. Same b and L as your brolly but somehow the a keeps me drier. No drips down that curious handle.
