So much of what you’ve been sorry for are by products of being young and working your way through life. As we grow and mature we usually make mistakes in judgement about what kind of man is good or us, what we want or need in a partner. We make mistakes about what makes a man a man. We chose lust over reason. We lust for the wrong reasons too.

Your upbringing left you to figure out so much without real guidance. As you continue on please don’t be hard on yourself. I don’t think you need to kick your own ass around the block or anything close to it. Aren’t you just SO GLAD that much of this is behind you and that you’ve learned from all that water under the bridge? Things will keep improving, I’m sure of it.
