Ramona I wish I could do more at this second than just clap for your writing. My daughter told me that she feels like we are witnessing America’s darkest days. I started to argue with her, remembering the days when Black Americans had dogs sicced on them because they were just trying to walk down the street or eat lunch or simply ask to be treated better. But I’m thinking these days are equally dark. We cant let life descend back to darkness. Trump stands for all we cannot stand for.
We’ve got to get through this stupidity of floundering around about a candidate who will defeat Trump in 2020. My Republican mother-in- law claimed to me when Trump was elected that at least now we would be safe. Who gets to feel safe? People of privilege with white skin? I want an America that embraces not one that erases.
I’m feeling the loss of Toni Morrison’s wisdom now too. Her books have taught me so much. The world is diminished and we have a cruel joke for a President. What in the world is happening.
