Shannon--your voice in your writing is specific and recognizable (and honest) and I hope you go forward understanding all that you bring to the world with it.

Styron is one of my favorite writers. Through his writing I've been able to understand depression. I've only had moments of depression in my life. Even in grief I've known I was not actually depressed. I've always found it easier to understand when I've gotten an explanation.

You and Styron are able to explain in a way those who don't feel it can at least "get" it. The world is better for that.
