I’ve had insomnia since I was a teenager. I’ve had a small amount of success in staying asleep (this is my problem- no problem falling asleep but at 3:00 AM, when my liver dumps the flight or fight sugars into my system I wake as if I’ve slept all night-staying asleep is my isssue).

I get up and do stuff. Scrubbing counters used to be my bailiwick- now I read stories on Medium, look at stuff on my phone or watch television.

Tired of fighting it. I’ve given up and given in.

I have the luxury of being able to nap during the day. And I do. I nap so hard I have dreams.

Best wishes for you! Love your beautiful writing…
