It’s a crazy, double-edged sword. I feel you. Stop writing as much — you might affect your income. Keep writing so much, along with less time spent with your DD, less time for yourself and more demands on your time to interact with your audience and you might end up with regrets.

I think you can feel secure that your writing skills are enough to keep a readership no matter what you write about. It’s a part of your personal journey.

As you DD grows up (oh yeah, that is going to happen!) she will be in school, she will have a bigger social life that has less and less to do with you. Your life will continue to change along with hers.

I think you are being squeezed from the middle and that can’t feel too comfortable. Top going to blow? Bottom going to blow? Or do you just feel the squeeze and tolerate it. Or ignore it?

One thing I’ve learned over time, no matter how full our lives feel, filled with this and that, there is always room for something more if the more feels good, is wanted or is meaningful. I’ve never gotten to the end of a fulfilling day and wished it was smaller. I have felt overwhelmed with life before but it was typically because of some sort of negative challenge or something that set me off balance. And as you’ve mentioned this new mood is all about balance.

Trust your ability to sort it all out and to find your new normal. Wow, think of the changes you’ve encountered since beginning with Medium. Could you ever have imagined any of it? The good and the not so great? Give yourself a minute to adjust.

I’m so glad you took your vacation. Glad you got your nails did.

I need a hair cut and a facial. (:-))
