Interesting article and I certainly enjoyed reading it.

I had no idea that one can make money from Pinterest. In fact, when you say you create on Pinterest I’m not really sure what that means. I use Pinterest like a virtual bulletin board- to keep track of ideas and interests and to curate them into something comprehensible. Hope that makes sense. For example, I store recipes I would like to try there. I pin vintage photographs that make me smile. Such as people and their dogs.

Also wondering how much you read on Medium. Do you feel like you read as much as you are read? I love reading articles on Medium, love “finding” talented writers and/or writers who write about interesting things and things I am interested in. There is a ton of stuff on Medium I have no interest in whatsoever and it’s easy to see how a writer’s work can get lost on Medium since there is so much other writing here.

I love writing here too because I like to write and because there is a chance that folks will read what I’ve written and might even clap or comment. Which is like a hug of recognition that feels good but is not a make it or break it moment for me.

If I follow someone on Medium it is so I can “follow” their work. Sometimes people who don’t write anything on Medium will follow me. I don’t follow them because I don’t understand why I would when they aren’t putting out anything I can follow.

Sometimes people will follow me and never clap for anything I’ve written. Are they following me just so I will follow them?

Your discussion of vanity explains this but maybe I have that wrong…I kind of feel like I’m so clueless I may have asked a question that seems insulting or rude which is NOT my intent AT ALL. If I’ve done that I apologize in advance…
