I was always praised for my penmanship in school but hated my own handwriting. My Mother had an artist friend, Edna, whose penmanship stood apart from everyone else's. Full of loops and flourishes and eccentricities.

Remember letter writing? You could always tell who sent the letter by the writer's unique hand. No doubt about who corresponded when the letter. was from Edna.

I use my laptop's keyboard to express myself. My hand cannot keep up with my brain. Hand writing becomes too tedious. But I keep a handwritten notebook for my business inventory, buy smaller scale notebooks with spiral bindings and liquidy, flowy ink pens in pretty colors to practice my hand.

I write pretty gift tags at Christmas. I'm no Edna but I try.
