I use my cane when I go out into uncharted territory. It helps to have it as a third leg if I get stuck in a long line. My sciatic nerve appreciates it.

You are right about how great a cane is as an assistant. I drive an old pick-up truck and I keep my cane in it. I risk falling out of my truck to close the door and my cane can reach the door handle no problem.

Mine isn't snazzy. It's basic black and still has the original store sticker on it. It first came from Walgreen's.

My husband bought it for me, second hand, at the flea market. Yeah, he's sweet like that.
