Maybe there are other ways to find yourself on the other side of your wall, ways that will be easier than brandishing a sledge hammer.

I'm thinking of a butterfly house with its narrow slits as doorways. The butterfly folds its wings to pass through. Once on the other side it can be its butterfly self again, wings spread. And still intact.
