Hey Shannon, Loving your new profile picture!

The person that has BPD in my life (my step-daughter) is in remission. She still has her struggles but things now seem much easier for her than when she was in her late teens and early twenties.

She is also in recovery and I think her work to stay sober has meant she’s put the work in to resolve a lot of things that kept her a prisoner to her symptoms.

BPD is so complicated. The trauma that she suffered (her mother was terminally ill from the time she was 8 years old and died shortly before she turned 13) still scrambles her ability to be on an even keel. She has one really good friend who she understands is very special and good to her — patient and tolerant and kind. I’d say for her maintaining close relationships has been her number one symptom and it is ongoing… I think she will continue to mature and gain personal insight too.
