Earlier today I realized, as I searched around Medium for a place to publish an article I just wrote, that there are STILL so very many great writers that I have missed. Sometimes when I click around and see article after article about tech subjects and all sorts of things that are either over my head or that I have zero interest in, I worry that the kinds are things I like to read are a rare commodity here.

And then Shannon Ashley writes a lovely piece about her favorite writers and first on her list is you. And I read this piece of yours and it just makes my heart sing.

About 16 years ago I lost my daughter’s father, my husband of 24 years. And with him a key member of our team was missing. That was actually the hardest part of the loss of him- what it did to the us of us.

My daughter was 17 then, she is 33 now (34 next week) and there are still times where we still just can’t believe we survived. Some days we aren’t all that sure that we have. (we have, we have but still…)

So touching to hear how you feel, to see in writing all of the important lessons that you’ve learned. And that you are kind enough to share.

Shannon is right and her article opens up a new fount of reading material by wonderful other writers.

Now, I’m going to spend some time reading about you.
