Beyond horrific. I grew up with a gay best friend and he was horribly bullied in our neighborhood. It was back in the early 1960s and even parents (his parents, my parents) looked the other way. He was supposed to learn to take it. I still have nightmares about witnessing his abuse and being too small to do anything about it. We have got to do better to get school administrators, police, people in charge, to have zero tolerance for bullying.
