I think a lot of folks are pretty mad at 2021. I really try to take everything in stride but I could have done without this end-of-year Omicron Covid-19 uptick, more and more mass shootings, and the devastating uprising at our capital city on January 6. That was a disturbing way to begin the year.

The confederate flag being carried inside our nation’s Capitol Building hurt my heart. So does the idea of men like Richard Barnett and other supporters of Donald Trump. Barnett was the guy who rested his feet on Nancy Pelosi’s desk after he and others broke windows and smashed doors to get inside. What a non-patriot move.

2021 saw people spitting on and hitting other people on airplanes. One young woman pushed an old man off a city bus which resulted in his death. Politicians acted like total fools. People in Texas lost their power for days during a pattern of freezing weather and some blamed the power outage on alternative energy sources while Ted Cruz tried to “get away” in Cancun. He even lied about his trip so he wouldn’t come off so selfishly and let’s not overlook that while he was doing this some of his constituents died.

2021 was the year of Texas Senate Bill 8.
